one of my Software ideas
Basically if instead of sharing finished compositions of videos, we shared the timelines and compositions of clips which compose those videos, so that our videos can be easily remixed
As if the "content" on this social platform was a project in Final Cut Pro X or some other nonlinear video editor
Take all of your clips, arrange them in some way, post that arrangement
Others can take your footage and rearrange it in a new way
Remix culture for video
TikTok could use this feature, if I could load someone's edited video into my own editor, and change how it was edited
Look into OpusClip, it’s not a social platform, but it’s an AI clip app which could help us get closer
WeWrite could be clips app with the Inline images and videos but then again we might not even want to build that because that might be a bad outcome.
Perhaps there can be a clips-only alternative that we finance via WeWrite.
Would be good for cutting up long live streams and lectures into smaller bite-sided chunks
This is why text-based content is so good, it's easily quotable
This is also why React videos are modern-day polemics
Also Descript helps to make video clips more remixable if there's dialogue
Could be useful for Loom videos
Arguably, clips app would precipitate a "new writing system" — some languages use letters to string together into words, some languages use symbols which are words, and this would be using video clips strung together into rearrangeable objects. Like Vine but remixable.
Whoever executes this idea will become a billionaire lmfao
It's kinda like "open source video" in that the source clips are available for all to see
