Economic Nationalism: Punishable by Force

The warmongers of the US empire are non-ideological. Their only ideology is greed. Accumulation of wealth and power.

For example, the US imperialists love some Islamic states (like Saudi Arabia, despite their killing of our journalists), they’ll covertly finance Islamist extremists (Operation Cyclone and Timber Sycamore), and yet they’ll still demonize other Islamic states, like Iran.

If the USA therefore takes no position on Islam (despite the xenophobic screechings of some of our lesser-educated sheeple) what exactly is the USA against?

Follow the money. The USA puts up with Saudi Arabia because they’ve been a loyal servant of our business interests. (this might be changing in the coming years)

The USA finances Islamists to destabilize our rivals and bring about regime change.

But when a country takes for itself its own economy, that’s when we have a problem. That’s exactly what Iran did during their Islamic Revolution of 1979.

Another example: The USA was very amicable to Russia after the fall of the USSR during the 1990s because US speculators were happily looting the previously state-owned assets, as Naomi Klein writes in The Shock Doctrine.

Why suddenly does our corporate-owned mainstream media now demonize Putin and promote all this fake Russiagate hysteria?

Because Putin is an economic nationalist. He wants the Russian economy to serve Russia, not the pirates who reside in Wall Street and the City of London Corporation. (the CoLC is the UK’s equivalent to Wall Street)

Putin’s meteoric rise to power came after writing a dissertation describing exactly that; the Russian nation’s immense natural resources could be used to reboot the economy and emerge from the dark economic crisis of the 1990s. Thus, Gazprom and Rosneft were born, and the state-owned enterprises now generate far more revenue for the Russian state than taxation does.

Something the American working class would particularly benefit from: reduced taxation thanks to nationalization of natural resources.

Just remember all this next time you see the mainstream media demonizing a country. The same corporations that own the media stand to benefit from the pillaging of those target countries’ resources.

As US Marine Corps Officers Smedley Butler said, War is a Racket. If you defend your nation from the racket, the CIA will come knocking on your door. Nations that participate in the racket will be left alone, although their dignity and all their resources will be stripped of them.
