Every interactive piece is an attention sink

By

everything interactive is a potential Attention sink where people could get their energy caught up in

No side quests. The only quest is to write.

This is why we won't have Reacts because that will take away psychological energy from the creative act of writing

we need to be careful with our users' attention by ensure that it's used for constructive aims which increase the size of the pie

Can't have our people spinning their wheels pointlessly.

This is also why we want to limit text formatting. The more interactive and creative a page becomes, the less you'll want to lean into the WeWrite functionality of linking together pages and creating fun rabbit holes. For example, adding sections and tables of contents would prevent users from splitting up long pages into many smaller pages. These many smaller pages increases the "surface area" of potential donations.

The main interactive surface should be writing with your keyboard. All else is just scaffolding to allow typed words to flourish.
