As I was scrolling through my FB feed, I stumbled upon a rather tone deaf post by a “personal finance” bro called Josh Rincon and he wrote the following; “Unpopular Opinion: Having kids while you’re financially unstable is irresponsible.” It is only irresponsible because our government has an irresponsible economy. Which is exactly why we need communism in America because with a Government form the people, by the people, will ensure an increase of healthy families. AES states of past and present (and future) have comprehensive family planning, such as in the USSR, mothers had maternity leave form three years, a policy that is still practiced in Russia today. During Stalin’s era, a program was initiated that rewarded Soviet families with big homes if the mother had 10 children.
In the U.S., maternity leave is primarily governed by the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). This law provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year for the birth and care of a newborn, adoption, or to care for a family member. I remember when my sister first had my oldest nephew, and godson, she was overworked and stressed out of her mind because she wanted to be with her son but she couldn’t be with him all the time because she and her husband had to work in order to finically support their family. She and I were discussing how unfair our society does not allow mothers to stay home with l their newborn children for more than one month without the threat of losing their jobs. I told my parents who was helping watch her son, that maternity (Or rather parental leave because a child needs both parents in their formative years) should be five years so ensure maximum cognitive, spiritual, and physical development.
Communist governments recognize the innate nature of motherhood and her need to be with her child, especially in their formative years.
