This is one of the very rare events I speak at where FBI undercovers don’t stick out like a sore thumb.
People actually wear suits here.
I agree with Robert Kagan.
That’s what I wanted to lead off with, here at the Ron Paul Institute.
I agree with Robert Kagan, the guru of neoconservatism and top bipartisan imperial planner, who said that the Iran war has dealt possibly the worst blow ever to the U.S. empire, more than the Vietnam War.
The damage is not contained, and you can’t quantify the damage as Donald Trump does when he falsely claims that 100,000 men were killed in Vietnam and that makes it far worse than Iran.
The damage is deep and structural.
It hits directly at the core of the fundamental underpinnings of American empire.
That ranges from the hegemony of the dollar, to the U.S. as a maritime power, to the vast archipelago of U.S. bases that are being rapidly evacuated as we speak, now in Jordan.
And that’s a good thing.

Because we want to bring the boys home.
An army is supposed to defend a country’s borders.
So I agree with Robert Kagan on that, but probably for a different reason.
He’s upset because he believes in empire.
I don’t.
But the real issue that I think we’re going to be debating is not just the damage that the war has caused.
I think everyone agrees on that.
The question is: Why did this war have to happen in the first place?
I see all these historians and analysts lining up to talk about how damaging this war was.
But then they’ll say at the end of their article in Foreign Policy, “We will debate for years why this happened.”
“No one can quite understand how such a stupid decision was made.”
Did anyone just watch Donald Trump’s inauguration and see who was seated behind him?
The Israeli warlord Miriam Adelson, with a better seat than any cabinet secretary or member of Congress.
That was kind of a tell, along with the AI tycoons in the front row.
You could see it coming at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
You could see it coming from who was running the show.
As they say, personnel is policy.
And we’re not just talking about people appointed to cabinet positions or NSC positions.
We’re talking about Jared Kushner.
I don’t even know if he has a security clearance anymore, but he was the lead negotiator against Iran as Trump was threatening to bomb Iran.
Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners had nothing until the Saudis and Emiratis started dumping billions of dollars into it.
But few know that he actually has close to a majority stake in the biggest insurance company in Israel.
When he was a boy, his parents would host Netanyahu when Netanyahu was opposition leader.
Jared Kushner would have to get out of bed and sleep on the couch so Netanyahu could sleep in his bed.
He was literally in bed with Netanyahu.
Brad Parscale was Donald Trump’s campaign manager in 2020.
He got Baker Acted because his wife called the cops and he was hoarding weapons.
You can see the SWAT raid on him.
He had run the Facebook operations for Donald Trump.
He was a pretty important figure.
So Israel recruited him.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry hired him for the largest foreign meddling operation in history through his company, Clock Tower X.
It is paying out hundreds of millions of dollars to influencers in the United States through third-party accounts and various shell companies.
The goal is not just to influence the American public, but actually to undermine Trump whenever he agrees, or seems to agree, to anything with Iran.
As part of his foreign-agent contract, he took over the biggest conservative media company, Salem Media.
And guess who got a 30% stake in Salem Media as part of that deal?
Donald Trump Jr. and Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law.
Harmeet Dhillon.
I was just talking to someone outside about Harmeet Dhillon.
She runs the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, which is actually now the anti-free-speech division, violating everyone’s civil rights unless they are Jewish supremacist billionaires.
She left her law firm to her brother, Dhillon Law, which now represents a registered foreign agent for Israel known as Show Faith by Works.
It is geofencing evangelical churches on behalf of the State of Israel.
That’s the third-ranking Justice Department official.
Then you’ve got Susie Wiles, who controls everything Donald Trump hears and sees.
Joe Kent, who’s going to speak next, had to get through her to talk to the president and talk sense into him.
How many of you know that she actually worked for Benjamin Netanyahu before she worked for Donald Trump?
Yeah.
Well, I know Phil Giraldi knows that she was actually brought into Israel to help Netanyahu win reelection in 2020.
It’s weird.
John Ratcliffe, Marco Rubio, Mike Waltz.
These were all named by a top AIPAC official during a private lobbying session on Congress.
I got the leaked audio.
They were described as Israel’s “eyes and ears” inside the administration.
He said something like, “They’re our safety net, because each one of them had been recruited right when they were coming into Congress.”
They know that they’re safe and that if anything goes sideways, we can call on them.
So we could see it coming with the personnel.
I could see the war coming when I was in Iran in 2025.
I talked about that last year here.
I was talking to Iranian negotiators and they said, “We can’t figure out what’s going on.”
“Every time we think we have a deal, Steve Witkoff goes back to Washington and lies about what took place, and Donald Trump says war is coming.”
I said, “That’s because war is coming.”
“You’re not going to have a deal with these people.”
Then I learned that the only person who was actually lobbying Trump against going to war with Iran in 2025 was Charlie Kirk.
Then I watched Charlie Kirk’s last name become a verb for a mysterious political assassination.
I could kind of see things coming then.
While I don’t know who killed Charlie Kirk, I know that those who were behind this war certainly didn’t want someone with that much influence out there when they were going to war.
I could see war coming on January 3rd, when the U.S. went into Venezuela and kidnapped President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, First Lady Cilia Flores.
They killed over 100 people, including 30 Cuban officers, and took control of Venezuela as a colony with the assistance of Maduro’s vice president, Delcy Rodríguez.
Trump believed that he could do the same thing in Iran.
He believed there would be an Iranian Delcy Rodríguez waiting to run the show on his behalf so they could plunder Iran.
I could see war coming in February, when the Beltway was shut down for the real leader, Benjamin Netanyahu.
He came to town for a presidential-style visit.
We subsequently learned that Netanyahu marched into the White House, sat in the Situation Room at the head of the table, and Donald Trump sat to the side.
Unprecedented.
He gave Trump his marching orders along with the Mossad director, David Barnea, who now heads a U.S. weapons company.
They told Trump, “There’s a meeting on February 28th.”
“The Supreme Leader and his staff and advisers will meet.”
“You will kill them all with Tomahawk missiles, which will never run out.”
“Then there will immediately be regime change, and the Iranian people will just march in and call for freedom.”
“It’ll last three or four days.”
“It’ll be like Venezuela.”
“It’ll be the best war.”
“It’ll be a big, beautiful war.”
So it happened.
Trump did what he wanted.
Marco Rubio subsequently met with the Gang of Seven after launching the war.
He came out to the press and said the war was for Israel.
He just came out and said it.
“We knew Israel was going to go in, so we had to go in.”
“We had to do it.”
Just like Operation Midnight Hammer.
“We had no choice because Israel controls us.”
He openly said that.
Then this week, Benjamin Netanyahu was on Channel 14 in Israel.
He’s campaigning for reelection again.
He’s on the ropes.
He spoke to a friendly Likudnik audience on Channel 14.
It’s the pro-Netanyahu, pro-genocide, pro-ethnic-cleansing channel in Israel.
He said, “I was able to tell the U.S. leadership what to do by being on TV in the U.S. for a thousand hours.”
“I finally made them come to their senses on Iran.”
Where was he on TV for a thousand hours?
Fox News.
Just Fox News, over and over and over again.
That included during the 12-day war, when Israel started to feel the heat from Iranian ballistic missiles back in June 2025.
He went on Fox News with Bret Baier.
He was trying to get Trump to come in and bail Israel out of the consequences of the war it started but couldn’t finish.
And what did he say?
He said Iran was responsible for Butler, Pennsylvania.
Iran was responsible for targeting Donald Trump.
He went straight to Donald Trump’s greatest psychological vulnerability in order to appeal to him to go to war.
And it worked.
He’s right.
The war is a total disaster.
As I said at the opening, U.S. bases are being removed across the region.
I think the Al Udeid Air Base is totally evacuated.
The largest air base.
The Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
Their base has been totally shattered.
The bases in Bahrain that supply U.S. naval ships with food have been removed by Iran.

Yeah, bring the boys home.
They want to come home on the Abraham Lincoln.
They want to come home because their food is being rationed.
It makes a public-school cafeteria look like a Michelin-star restaurant on there.
They can’t get their food.
They can’t be on land.
They have to go to Singapore to be on land because there’s nowhere else for them to go.
That’s one of the consequences of this war.
The Strait of Hormuz is closed.
It’s not open like Donald Trump says.
Oil is up above $92 a barrel.
Twenty percent of LNG in the world is blocked.
An NSC expert, the only real expert they had on Iran in the NSC under Trump, was named Nate Swanson.
He was warning that if you go to war with Iran again, they will close the Strait of Hormuz.
That’s the nuclear option, and it will shatter the global economy.
What happened to him?
Laura Loomer told Trump to fire him, and he did.
He got Loomered.
That’s who’s running this war.
The war is so bad that, three weeks ago, the Pentagon convened a meeting seeking fresh new ideas on how they could turn the tide and topple Iran’s government.
I don’t know what they haven’t tried yet.
Maybe they decided they could get a giant wooden horse and bring it into Iran with some soldiers.
They let it in and, bam.
There are no ideas.
They’re running around in circles.
In fact, what they’ve done is harden the resolve of the Iranian leadership and the Iranian people.
They have consolidated the control and the consensus behind the Islamic Republic of Iran.
I saw this on my last trip to Iran in July for the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The largest funeral in human history.
Over 30 million people attended across five cities, including Najaf in Iraq.
I was in Tehran.
I was out in the streets.
I interviewed many people.
I saw their confidence.
Their confidence in their military, which had held off the assault of the two most powerful militaries probably in human history, at least technologically.
I could also see the anger.
They were holding signs that said, “Kill Trump.”
They were that angry.
A woman I interviewed in a square in a part of Tehran that’s actually wealthier and more associated with the opposition, Tajrish Square, held up a gold chain.
She said, “We’re collecting gold chains.”
“We want to collect a thousand gold chains as the bounty for the person who will avenge the killing of our leader, who is our teacher and our father.”
She was telling me this in perfect English, on the verge of tears.
I just don’t think you can understate the anger or its consequences.
But I also interviewed the mayor of Tehran, who presided over these ceremonies and this entire spectacle, Alireza Zakani.
He’s a critic of that memorandum of understanding.
I asked him, “Is this the policy now, to retaliate personally against Trump?”
He made it clear, from the point of view of the Iranian establishment, that Donald Trump was actually doing enough damage to the United States and destroying the U.S. empire on his own that they think he’s better off alive.
That was echoed explicitly on Twitter/X by the Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi.
That is the position of the Iranian leadership.
But that’s not how Donald Trump understands it.
He’s running scared.
After the funeral proceedings in Iran was the NATO meeting in Ankara.
Donald Trump was there.
A threat comes in, courtesy of Israeli intelligence, as so many threats often do, relayed to Trump about imminent threats to his life.
They said IRGC operatives were in Turkey with MANPADS.
They were going to take down Trump Force One.
So Trump gets off the plane.
I don’t know if this was the plane that was gifted to him by Qatar, which had major security flaws.
No, I think this was the old Air Force One.
He gets off the plane and sneaks off to a decoy plane hidden in a food cart.
Okay, you couldn’t have conceived this scene in one of the old Leslie Nielsen parody films.
Just imagine Trump, with the makeup sweating off his face and saturating his shirt collar, hiding in a food cart.

It was Israel that manipulated Trump into hiding in a food cart based on the fear he had instilled in himself and his inner circle by following their instructions to wage war on Iran.
His mystique, if it hadn’t already been shattered by the Epstein files, was completely gone by this point.
With the revelation of this story, there is no more Trump as we understood him.

And with the loss of Donald Trump’s luster, MAGA has been completely obliterated.
Or I should say it has completely imploded.
[Applause]
So we’re in a very dangerous period.
That means that the most willing host vehicle for Israel and its Likud leadership is now imperiled.
Israel is trying to get done everything it can before November.
That includes getting me investigated.
There was a congressional letter signed by some real, true American patriots calling for me to be investigated for my journalism and my trip to Iran.
It was signed by Randy Fine.
He calls himself the Hebrew Hammer.
I call him the Hebrew Heer.
[Laughter]
Who’s the guy who replaced Ron Paul?
Tragically.
“Weber.”
Randy Weber.
He wears an Israeli-flag tie on the congressional floor to signify the country he truly represents.
And some guy named Keith Self.
I’ve never heard of him before.
I think his pronouns are “Zag/Self.”
[Laughter]
They released it on congressional letterhead, but not through any congressional channel.
They released it through the Twitter account of Laura Loomer, who has been calling for me to be arrested for weeks and weeks and weeks.
They released it on Shabbat, which is interesting for Randy Fine.
I guess Laura Loomer was their Shabbos...
[Laughter]
She’s pretty...
So Laura Loomer and Randy Fine are now calling for me to be investigated for being a foreign agent.
That’s like getting Child Protective Services called on you by Jimmy Savile and Jeffrey Epstein.

It’s transparently ridiculous.
And whatever happens, anything’s possible.
I could have black helicopters show up at my house.
The punishment is the process.
Anything could happen.
But I’m getting that letter framed and putting it on my wall.
It is a true badge of honor.

To be targeted by such shameless puppets for a genocidal foreign regime for my journalism.
That is a badge of honor.

And it really is a sign of the times.
This freakish character, with the personality of a serial killer, with the personality of Dylann Roof, and a face even her own parents couldn’t love, has become the face of MAGA and the face of an administration.
Laura Loomer is practically running this administration right now.
What’s happened?
Where is our country right now?
Where is the president right now?
What is happening?
This is the result of anyone who ever stood for anything, or believed in anything Trump claimed to have represented vis-à-vis America First, being driven out, demeaned, defamed, destroyed, and utterly turned into a pariah.
All that’s left is a gigantic corruption network.
It’s not a government.
It’s Trump Incorporated.
It’s Trump and his crony network.
So Laura Loomer is pretty much all that’s left.
And as I said, they only have until November at this point to carry out Netanyahu’s wishes through this host vehicle.
Donald Trump’s approval rating is now 33%.
It’s a historic low.
Only 14% of Americans strongly approve of him.
Close to one-quarter of Republicans oppose him.
That’s shocking.
Four out of five Americans say that their cost of living has gone up and their quality of life has markedly declined because of the Iran war.
This is a historically unpopular war.
And it’s what happens when you turn your administration into a cow pasture for Benjamin Netanyahu, Randy Fine, Laura Loomer, and the Likud Party.
That’s what happens.
And the Democrats don’t have much more support.
Do you think any of the Democratic Party’s base are excited about having “AIPAC Shakur,” a.k.a. Hakeem Jeffries, become majority leader?
Do you think anyone’s excited about Jared Moskowitz running the House Foreign Affairs Committee?
Do you think they’re excited about any of the candidates who could possibly run?
Rahm Emanuel?
Does that excite the Democratic Party base that turned their backs on Kamala Harris, as AOC said she was tirelessly working for a ceasefire when she was doing nothing of the sort?
There’s no excitement there.
People are mad.
They’re mad across the board.
Left, right, and center, they’re mad about Flock cameras.
Left, right, and center, they’re mad about data centers being built in their backyards.
Left, right, and center, they’re mad about their data.
I mean data that would not be allowed to be released under HIPAA being handed over to Larry Ellison’s Oracle.
And they’re mad as hell about what is happening to the people of Gaza, to the people in South Lebanon, and to the people of Iran.

And when Netanyahu says he’s not just in a seven-front war in the region, he’s in an eight-front war and the eighth front is the United States, well, a lot of Americans aren’t going to lie down and take being attacked by Netanyahu.
They’re actually going to fight back.

So I continue to travel around this country.
I’m not in politics.
I’m never going to be in politics.
I would never even imagine having to go through what Thomas Massie went through, or what Joe Kent went through, or what Marjorie Taylor Greene is going through, or what Dennis Kucinich has had to go through, in order to just try to get their hands on the levers of power and steer this ship back to sovereignty.
I could never imagine that.
But I’m out there.
I can feel what’s going on out there.
People are ready for serious change.
I think there’s a bigger opportunity now than at any time since Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich threw their hats into the presidential ring.
Maybe a bigger opportunity right now.
