I am very thankful for the questions and am happy to address them. I figured it's best to do so on WeWrite itself, so I can link directly to other relevant pages for each question.

Question 1: How does collaboration work / importing from MediaWiki sites?
Right now, pages aren't collaborative. That was part of the original vision, but due to financial constraints, we've had to focus on building out basic functionality and the Payments system so we can make this financially viable. Unfortunately payments still isn't fully built out, so if you'd like to financially support development (we're in desperate need of support) you can support us on OpenCollective here
Eventually we'd like to build Collaborative pages and we'll need to show the audit log and allow for users to approve / reject edits via the Moderation queue
As for migrating and importing from MediaWiki sites, that's on the WeWrite Roadmap but it's not a top priority right now. Best to just type up new pages.
Furthermore, each "wiki" would've been a Group object. That too is sidelined for now. So the current state of the system is that each user has their own collection of pages and we're to connect them to one another via linking. This is cool because it allows many different ideas to flourish.
Question 2: "How will replies to pages be visible?"
Below each page, we show the Graph view of how that page connects to other pages. Also when the user creates a reply, it says on the first line "replying to [page]" which allows the reader to go back. This puts everyone at the same level and prevents ankle-biting in the "comments" section. Each reply is a new page.
Question 3 & 4: "Can quotes be used from other pages? Can quotes be made to refer to authors who aren't users?"
Right now, Quotes functionality is planned but not yet built. Right now the best way to do this would be to quote someone and link to that page. We also need to add the ability to link to a user via the insert link pop-up.
Question 5: "WeWrite should integrate with ActivityPub bc it builds open source social media and could help to build WeWrite"
I totally agree. I will put that on the Roadmap as well.
