Questions About a Possible Data Center Crisis

By

Questions that just recently popped up in my head after reviewing More Unfiltered Thoughts on Data Centers (Unfinished) and running an AI simulation on my computer of the hypothetical scenario in that article:

1. Will the revenues from Data Center production and Information System monopolization sufficiently justify pursuing the Laissez-Faire path (mentioned in the article linked above)? E.g. would tech capital be able to steer the government away from preserving legacy exports? How distinct are the Laissez-Faire and Interventionist path qualitatively in terms of Extremistan's potential future capital?

The AI provided two formulae for calculating the capital over time for both the Laissez-Faire and Interventionist scenario. As it stands, the future capital of Extremistan is much higher in the Laissez-Faire path. But these formulae need to be reviewed and critiqued:

The Laissez Faire capital over time formula is: Capital_t = Capital_{t-1} + (DC_Output_{t-1} * 0.10) + (General_Output_{t-1} * 0.05) - 5.0

The Interventionist capital over time formula is: Capital_t = Base_Capital_t - Stipend_Cost

Where Base_Capital_t = Capital_{t-1} + (DC_Output_{t-1} * 0.10) + (General_Output_{t-1} * 0.05) - 5.0

And Capital_t = Base_Capital_t - Stipend_Cost

And DC_Output is Data Center Output, an abstract hypothetical quantity representing the amount of socially necessary "output" produced by the Data centers of each country. What matters is that Extremistan's is higher than Mediocristan's. The AI assumes that the two countries diverge even further in DC_Output after an extreme weather event.

And General_Output is all of the country's exports combined with DC_Output. Opposite to DC_Output, Mediocristan has much higher General_Output than Extremistan. Similar to DC_Output, the two countries diverge in General_Output after an extreme weather event.

2. In the Laissez-Faire path, how much leverage would Extremistan get from having a relative monopoly in information systems? Is a global monopoly on information systems actually possible physically, and does it even mean anything practically to have such a monopoly? Can Mediocristan take preventative measures to impeach such a monopoly successfully?

The more I think about this, the more I'm thinking "DC_Output" should be thought of roughly as "level of market share in the global Attention economy ". In which case a monopoly in information systems is indeed both possible and meaningful. And this industry is then part of the InfoWars (Finance).
