The Loneliness Epidemic: Not Just For Men

Jason K Pargin, former Cracked Executive Editor and NYT best selling author has his own conspiracy theory, one that we have all been seeing for the past five years or so. You, the reader, have most likely seen headlines that read, “15 Early Relationship Red Flags”, or “Here are some toxic traits to look out for”, or “When its time to end a friendship.” What do they all have in common? They tell you, yes you, are better off alone. Why? Because people are toxic and solitude is the fool proof solution from being abused by others. Pargin discussed a bit how the mass media manipulates us into atomization via pop psychology and glamourozing living “independently” from society by living off the grid. Pop psychology stress “independence” over “co-dependence” because once you’ve established a relationship, you must sacrifice your autonomy for the sake of friendship or “groupthink.” Once you have your cabin in the woods, you no longer need the people who helped you build that cabin. At least that’s what our ruling class wants us to believe.

Hot take: Things like “the stranger danger” classes and talks allowed this happen because talking to strangers can be dangerous. But sometimes, if you don’t talk to strangers, you will never make friends because a stranger is always a potential friend just as he or she is a potential threat. The ruling elite want us to be scared of each other because a united humanity is harder to control. “Oh he’s making trans/gay jokes, he must be a trans/homophobe stay away from him!” “Hey, there’s a trans person over there, they must be a groomer/gender ideologist, stay away from them!” “Uh oh, there’s a black guy in the corner, he must be a gang member, stay away from him!” “Yikes, the Christian woman is probably a Trump voter, stay away from her!” “That redneck making racist jokes has to be a racist bigot, don’t talk to him!” “Oh no, there’s a Muslim walking in our streets, she might be a terrorist!” “I don’t know if that weirdo is autistic or something but she’s still creepy, might be best to exclude her from our circle of friends in case she becomes unstable.”

Hopefully you get the picture, bigotry and prejudice is not just a left/right thing, but attitudes amplified by our tech-feudal overlords who take advantages of traumatic experiences and turn blanketed suspicion into normalcy. Whether you like it or not, we all NEED each other because that’s how humanity has survived and will always survive.
