In Defense of Lehi

This is more or less just my two cents.

THE ACP DOES NOT ENDORSE THIS AND THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL OPINIONS

Thank you for everyone else who is willing to understand.

Basically Lehi wasn’t Zionist

They were anti-imperialist and pro-USSR

Natan Yellin-Mor worked with the Soviets and Arabs while remaining on good terms with his Lehi comrades

Dimitrov approved, based on him knowing a friend involved. Couldn’t find corroborative evidence from outside sources but there’s nothing that contradicts.

There is one story about how Molotov met with a supposed relative who was involved in Lehi, but this was based on a myth that Scriabin was related to Molotov.

Either way, the Lehi tried to make peace with the Arabs and actually befriended some Arabs. Heck there were quite an few Arab members in the group.

Sternist Fighters Party was established, basically promoted a nationalist ideology while also promoting ties with the USSR and a socialist economy.

Natan Yellin-Mor with a couple of his former Lehi comrades formed the Semitic Action organization, was small but had an interesting ideology. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semitic_Action

Many of the people who were in Semitic action would go on to join Hadash (For example, Uri Avnery, who also coined the phrase Hishtalvut BaMerhav, emphasizing the necessity for an Israel integrated into the region.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uri_Avnery

Yellin-Mor also supported Algeria in the war against the French. https://visionmag.org/story-natan-yellin-mor/

Former Israeli PM Yitzhak Shamir, who was one of the three leaders of the stern gang, was heavily inspired by Mao and Stalin. https://visionmag.org/remembering-michael-yitzhak-shamir/

On further thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that yeah Lehi isn’t the best, but out of the groups that existed in the Yishuv, they weren’t the worst.
