Fictional story I want to write, could start as a book and eventually become a movie or TV series or franchise
Premise: U.S financial crisis - debt defaults, trillion-dollar bank bailouts, hyperinflation, farmers torching eviction notices, arresting repo men, truckers shut down the economy
Banks and oligarchs are rescued by government bailouts, ordinary people screwed, populist anger erupts from the countryside
The New Deed Army (NDA) begins forming chapters in small towns across the American countryside and starts a national convoy to go around to issue new home deeds to people to free them from their enslavement to the banks.
The NDA also helps to build Self-sustaining townand off-the grid communities so they aren't reliant on the old infrastructure still controlled by the banks and the oligarchy in Wall Street and DC.
Monero becomes a major means of exchange, since all the Bitcoin transactions are being surveilled by the feds due to Bitcoin's lack of privacy functionality.
"if you recognize us as the new authority, here's the new deed to your home. Your house is paid off"
Like Mao's army freeing peasants from the landlord class, see: The Coming Maoism
The New Deed Army sets up a New Congress which is called the Jubilee Council where each town and locality elects their own representative.
The Jubilee Council declares all debts null and void. New Deeds are issued via blockchain smart contracts. Farmers, workers, and students begin receiving digital ownership proofs.
Personal arcs develop alongside the political struggle. Families try to reconcile. Love and betrayal cut through the abstract politics.
Fun and Games: The promise of the premise — montage of crypto insurgency, debt liberation, seized mansions turned into housing for the homeless, fancy cars taken up by New Deed chapters.
Propaganda wars show the media painting the rebels as terrorists who are violating the sanctity of private property. Some oligarchs are able to flee to safe havens and bunkers abroad, while most are prevented from doing so by the fact that most airports were either insolvent and no longer operable, or completely taken over by the NDA.
A false victory. The Republic seems to be winning. The movement spreads continentally, BRICS+ nations begin recognizing the New Government. But sanctions and military buildup in Europe signal global finance preparing a counterstrike.
America's membership in NATO is called into question due to its domestic turmoil.
London and Wall Street form a new banking organization called Atlantic Alliance for Global Stability (AAGS) which acts as the Anglo-American wing of the Bank of International Settlements.
The name AAGS is hated by the masses in America since it's similar to "Ags" (Agricultural workers) who are fighting against this alliance of capital.
AAGS and the BIS finance the Europe-based NATO military buildup, primarily using Britain for staging and Germany and France for manufacturing. Foreign invasion looms.
The invasion descends through Canada and takes the North East. The media declares the Republic finished.
A key leader — trucker or coder — is captured or killed.
Characters despair. The dream seems impossible. Families face collapse or find new strength together.
Break into Act III: A bold move — full adoption of the Monero standard. The Continental Convoy surrounds DC. Elites are trapped.
Finale: Showdown with three possible endings. In the Triumph path, the Republic wins, bonds are voided, a new world order emerges. In the Compromise path, a dual system is established, unstable but lasting. In the Defeat path, the revolution is crushed, but resistance survives underground.
Final Image: A farmer’s family holds their New Deed — not paper, but a glowing smart contract on a phone. A visual echo of the opening image, but inverted — from despair to new possibility.
Global Reverberations: Europe faces collapse. Latin America is inspired. Africa resists. BRICS+ ascends. Elites flee to finance havens in New Zealand and Israel. A global insurgency against the dollar begins.
Storytelling Modes: The narrative could be framed as a political thriller, a dystopian history, a family epic, a documentary allegory, or a mythic jubilee prophecy.
Movement Names: Possible names include New Deed, Jubilee, Continental Convoy, Debt Liberation Front, Second Republic.
I might integrate the idea of Free States into this
Need to read Grapes of Wrath
