Hypothetical map of which US regions contribute more to the trade deficit, and which contribute more to the trade surplus
This seems to be technically possible at the granularity of individual States i.e. one could build a map showing US State trade surpluses and deficits:
One could hypothetically use Census Bureau State Trade Data by using the "Origin of Movement" for exports and "State of Destination" for imports.
This is also potentially possible using the USA Trade Online public API platform.
