Yea, it's almost like Biden and the Democratic establishment just absorbed (consensually) Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren's platforms after burning particularly Bernie as an extremist and capital S socialist.
But now that Biden and the Democratic establishment are credited with the initiatives, it's sane, rational, great politic, great for the economy too huh.
And then you see how Biden's positions have been to pull each of these positions to the right each time without Republican or conservative aid, all on his own, but garners the full credit of being ultra-progressive. No hints of that scary S word in sight.
Cannabis reform, prison reform, minimum wage raise, climate change initiatives, student loan reform, student loan forgiveness, lowering prescription drug prices (particularly insulin), police accountability, pro union rhetoric, speaking about the ultra-wealthy as antagonists.
Meanwhile, Biden and his administration can finish their pardons and fully remove cannabis/marijuana and its derivatives from the scheduling. Instead it's delayed and then likely will be dropped to Schedule 3.
Minimum wage is halted and the blame goes on Joe Manchin, who has gained a strong national voice and says $11 is the most he is willing to go. Nancy Pelosi assures the Dems, it will be a win and will pass. The Democrat senators cannot muster the votes. The only Dem state with both senators saying no is....you guessed it Delaware, Biden's state. The state his late son was the Attorney General of, the state he was a long term senator himself of, the state of just like 1 million. Now we still have federal $7.25 not even $11.00.
The presidency starts with multiple bilateral agreements centered around a new climate change policy. Biden cancels the pipeline with Canada and rejoins the Paris Accords and issues apologies on behalf of the US govt. The Democrats prioritize wealthier Americans to push the climate initiatives on, by subsidizing so that those with enough wealth can reap the rewards of these programs the most. From EVs, solar panels, solar batteries, geothermal heat pumps, etc. Largely geared towards homeowners. As the nation moves into more and more people renting over being able to own homes. Then the US orchestrates the largest environmental terrorist attack in recent memory, by destroying the Nord Stream pipeline. And I believe they are building rn in Alaska as well, a departure from the 2020 platform.
The Infrastructure Bill is largely chopped at first. Biden promises the party he can deliver vital votes if they focus on the Infrastructure Bill first and work with the GOP as much as they can. Pelosi rallies the troops. The bill is chopped up multiple times.
The bill passes, then the Democrats ready themselves to feast on the social spending part of Biden's platform, his "New Deal", which he promised he could deliver the votes on if they got the Infrastructure bill through and stopped holding the line. This bill quickly drops community college for two years coverage and a few other parts to try and shore up support from centrist and conservatives. The Democrats set up the political theatre of Biden having his "sit down" with Joe Manchin, essentially trying to write history for the books before it happens. Trying to sell the image of the wheeling and dealing Biden who had a career of working with stubborn conservatives and making things work. Manchin embarrasses Biden AND the Democratic party by not only not agreeing to the bill but also announcing his decision ON Fox News.
The Democratic Party pivots HARD to focusing back on Jan 6 and the association with right wing media networks and Jan 6 and thoughts on Trump. A year after Biden declared his inauguration day a "National Day of Unity" and virtue signaled about not fighting the GOP and making Jan 6 a partisan issue that could split the nation and instead working to unify ALL Americans against the date.
Biden starts the student debt conversation by holding a stance he has held for over a decade. Community college should be free for up to 2 years. And then makes a comment about massive student loan forgiveness on the campaign trail. This comment blows up because this is a pet issue of both Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren amongst others. They both raise mass appeal over this and generate mass enthusiasm from voters, which Biden and Harris gleefully accept. But Biden, not the conservatives, not the GOP, but Biden himself, sets the arbitrary limit of saying he will at most do $10k and it HAS to go through Congress and he will sign it. Rejecting the Schumer position of $50k outright and rejecting the Warren movement position on using the Higher Education Act and amending a rules-making process.
Warren and others muster SO MUCH support for this one particular agenda item, that will ABSOLUTELY not pass Congress and so Biden, trying to hold onto those votes just...lies. Says he doesn't know about the efficacy of this approach and how he needs his own legal team to look into it and form a review etc. Elizabeth Warren offers up a lawyer to Executive, Miguel Cardona our (very good) education secretary direct hires this lawyer and works with the Warren team. It is then revealed through a leak that Biden has been SITTING on the FINISHED review that his legal team had for the Student Loan plan for many months and just has not mentioned it and purposefully kept it in limbo. Elizabeth Warren and many other pro-student Dems are furious and pressure the White House. He then delays and delays and eventually goes through with NOT the Elizabeth Warren plan that the mass movement supports, but instead uses an approach that limits the forgiveness to the pandemic period and uses a previous law tied to like the war on terror. He believes this will be soooo moderate it will appease conservatives and moderates who are anti-student loan forgiveness. And he furthers this by means testing the forgiveness even more in order to further cater to conservatives and moderates. You know the people who don't give a fuck, they are anti-mass student loan forgiveness by principle, you will not appease them by moving forward regardless. Then once the SCOTUS takes this case and expedites it, it becomes painfully clear that they WILL deny this mass forgiveness.
THEN Biden, negotiates the debt ceiling vote (which no Dem can explain why the Dems decided to wait until they lost the House to do...back when they just had to convince like Joe Manchin & Kyrsten Sinema instead of the alternative) with McCarthy. And Biden for whatever reason, decides to offer up the Student Debt Pause and say this will be the last and final pause coming up. When the Republicans were concerned and asking for MUCH more than this. And legal "experts" all OVER the nation and all the legal tea leaf readers alike were all but guaranteeing the SCOTUS would shut down the forgiveness plan for MONTHS.
Then Biden engages in this new plan, created by Miguel Cardona (great pick, will be remembered fondly, not his fault) , his administration, and the mass aid from this huge movement called the SAVE plan. So then, why was there no SAVE plan issued a year earlier? It arrives just in time for an "unexpected" SCOTUS decision. And then oh look, it fits EXACTLY what Biden has always held as his position on student loans. A plan that aids borrowers who are in community colleges etc. Does not offer mass forgiveness for current debtors. It is directly tied to income and work. And it is something he would have offered in 2007. Not saying it is not a great improvement, but it's something he could have offered on DAY ONE and several steps behind the mass movement for student debt forgiveness that had now formed and mobilized.
And then Biden has this overly elongated rulesmaking process he is undertaking because now AFTER DEFEAT he is willing to go through with Warren and the HIgher Education Act argument. Which now is IMMENSELY weakened by the SCOTUS making the previous decisions. And Biden further ensures it, by making this NEW debt forgiveness plan even MORE restrictive and means tested. But what is his reasoning now, when the new legal argument is more wide reaching and the moderates and conservatives already showed they flatly disagree with the premise altogether. Why does he make it even MORE means tested and strict? (This is rhetorical).
And then I mean, with police it's easy enough to see. Cop City in Atlanta. The increased funding for police in general. The very quick dismissals of events like what happened to Tyre Nichols. Mastered at this point. The pause. The invitation of the family to a state event to sit in a special section. The singular appeasement. The theatre. Not during a Democrat president will there be a mass movement against cops that the Dems will televise and endorse. They will wait until it's a Republican and then pretend they care and ramp it up to 100%.
And God the pro union rhetoric. Biden only even went to the auto strike AFTER hearing Trump was going to be in the area. Cornel West was already in flight. The railroad strike. The support for the Fed raising the interest rate because "wages had gotten to high" or whatever he affirmed at the time. The main saying political violence will have no place in this country is roleplaying as a pro-union guy huh.
And the worst is you can point out all this and shitlibs will either not read. Mind you the same people who preached about the efficacy of COVID vaccines, describe the complexities of sexual identity, want to put on their scientist hat and describe CO2 levels and climate change, the so called "critical thinkers" of our nation who rail at anyone who does not want to hear the nuances or complexities of heady or cerebral topics...if they are conservative. But when someone to the LEFT of them wants to poke the holes, they are dismissed as too informative, too involved, too understanding. Real signs of an evolving society, a true nation on the ever-proceeding path of human growth and prosperity. Definitely not signs of a nation on the decline or anything.
And then the ones that do read your complaints...just wait with baited breath. And I mean, they are salivating at the mere THOUGHT that just because you disagree with them, you are the supporter of their chosen Voldemort, Donald Trump. They wait to simply ask, "SOOOOOO you know Donald Trump is worse right?" "What did Donald Trump do?". Trained by all their shit media outlets to have 30 dialogue trees about why Donald Trump is bad, they are SO excited to bust out argument thread #22 or maybe this time trusty #6. As if the Establishment is handing out good little Patriot gold stars to the best bootlickers. And once you say you don't like Donald Trump and they can guarantee that is the case, they immediately lose interest. You are now no longer interesting to them. These shitlibs ONLY care about fearmongering about Trump and building support for the Democratic Party by lying to Americans that Biden is Santa Claus. Once you are one of the MANY Americans that are uninterested, they just shame you for it, implore why you are unhappy, and if they don't see a Democrat vote coming from you, they just leave you in the dustbin of history. The party that "unifies" the country huh.
And then obviously the fucking shitlib cycle that, THANK GOD, I am not a conservative or I would have to deal with all the time. Basically some political group confronts democrats (the voters). The democrat shitlibs tell you something is just not happening AT ALL, it's just a figment of your imagination, you are uneducated, dumb, a conspiratorial hoaxer. Then time passes and you show them the written evidence coming from different sources. Then they add skepticism over your sources (WITHOUT EVEN READING THEM YET!) and then immediately start preparing for a goal post shift. Then said issue becomes big enough that their biased ass sources that they trust, because they are told to trust them and they are old, and that is basically that (it really is just that to these people lol), like the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, etc. You know the names. And so then the shitlibs IMMEDIATELY goal post shift EVERY TIME to saying, "OF COURSE this was always happening??" "Wait did you think I was DENYING this?" "This was OBVIOUSLY the case, it's always just been about to what extent!" and then they gaslight you in this way. Then they repeat this same shitlib cycle ad nauseum. And as a leftist, it is painful but at least I don't have a dog in half those races. But for conservatives in this country, it's like a fucking hamster wheel of telling left leaning libs about ANYTHING that is partisan. They will play this eternal game of you somehow being an uneducated and uninformed conspiracist and them being an ultra rational, somehow far more educated individual every time.
Meanwhile ask those same shitlibs about half the things they argued about a year ago and they already forgot, because they are just propagandists, they are on to the next one. They don't know what's happened to the BLM movement, they don't know what is being held in courts tied to old discussions, they don't know where Rittenhouse is now, they don't care. They don't even take COVID shots anymore and can't even explain how the vaccine works anymore. That was all ultra relevant when they needed to debate conservatives to feel superior and support their party. And now they are strategic experts on aid delivery in Gaza, military strategists on the War in Ukraine, expert legal council on any case dealing with Trump, biological experts on the issue of fertility. Whatever hat they need to wear to fight conservatives and support the Democratic party. Because to them that is the primary objective, and if the American people benefit from that, well then I guess that happens too.
