1 Samuel 28:3-25

On Divine silence

The LORD became silent to Saul, because Saul had turned from Him

Instead of waiting on God and humbling himself, he took matters into his own hands by consulting mediums and necromancers

Saul sought out when he originally banned

En-dor was across enemy lines where the medium was

Saul secretly visited his sin, what ways do we do this too? we must confront this and give it to Christ

God will not be summoned

Saul tries to summon God for his purposes

Saul does not humbly approach God

To call upon the LORD is not the same as summoning Him

the former is from a place of humility

the latter is from a place of pride

Even after Saul summons Samuel, he is told the same thing. No new news. The silence continues. The answer was already given.

Jesus was met with silence when he asked the Father to 'take this cup from me' because it was already decided

The answer is already given in scripture
