The Trump administration has been gearing up to invade Venezuela, and of course, the US mainstream media has been reciting their lines of invasion, just like with Iraq, Syria, etc.

Foltz has made an entire career out of promoting "democracy" in South America, slandering Maduro and Gustavo Petro as "cartel"-linked "petroterrorists". No doubt she is backed by Operation Mockingbird.
But she claims Trump's forces are saving the poor Venezuelan people:

Eighty-seven percent[Infobae] reportedly approve the U.S. “in the Caribbean under the narrative of combating drug trafficking.” Furthermore, over 95 percent of the Venezuelan diaspora[Infobae again] support the U.S. military presence and 90 percent view U.S. actions positively.
The Infobae article cites a poll by Datos es Noticia. As Infobae has been blocked in Venezuela since 2014, one could expect a biased sampling size.
But this poll of 1,472 was carried out solely on Whatsapp. At most only 61% of Venezuelans use the internet, and only 53% use social media. [Corporate ad statistics via DataReportal] (The sampling bias arises because internet users are more well-off.) There are no statistics on exactly how many use Whatsapp.
But Whatsapp specifically was attacked by President Maduro in 2024. He has asked the entire Venezuelan population to delete Whatsapp and switch to Telegram or Wechat.[as.com, TASS]
This is on top of the sampling bias that Whatsapp is typically used to message internationally, meaning that Venezuelan users almost always have family or friends in the anti-Maduro diaspora. And clearly the poll was promoted on Whatsapp by diaspora.
So effectively, the poll discounts all those who follow President Maduro. In summary, it is bullshit designed to manufacture consent.
