“You can either be a communist or a Christian. You cannot be both.”
Should we have an economy based on Greed and exchange-value?
Or should we have an economy based on serving human needs and prioritizing Use-value?
The Soviets opposed the church only because during their time the church was part of the landed aristocracy and defenders of the exploiter class which was exploiting the peasantry
In a sense, The Soviets did what Jesus would've done, they went into the Temple and flipped tables
What happened in 1991 when the Soviet Union fell? Mass poverty, drug use, prostitution, etc.
It required a socialistic state intervention by Putin (nationalizing oil and gas) to stabilize Russia again and make it into the moderately prosperous society it is today (despite the attempted Western Sanctions and the sabotage of their oil pipelines etc)
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need ... does that sound against Christianity to you
